;; appearance
general;;
Édouard Isaacs is a well-built man, he reaches 6ft 2 and his wide shouldered with a strong torso and upper body. His posture is extremely straight and he walks as if he has a pole for a spine as he holds his head up high. His face is worn and he has several faint wrinkles across his forehead as well as two laughter lines at the corners of his mouth. He is roughly shaven and has two side burns down either side of his face, his hair is mid length and shaggy he rarely bothers to go to a barbers to get it cut or get shaved. His hair color is a dark raven black and is very glossy and shiny, it falls over his face in small kinks, which he is forever pushing from his face.
Surprisingly for such a dark complexioned man he has light blue eyes which he inherited from his mother. The color of his eyes add to his distant demur he takes with most people, it is rare you will see a flicker of emotion behind his eyes as he prefers to hide it from people. His voice is gruff and has a slight rasp to it as he speaks he often replies with the odd grunt or witty remark and generally avoids any question he doesn’t think is worthy of his attention.
He always dresses formally in black tailored suits with the most marvelous cravats, when he’s dressed for a special occasion he will wear a top hair and long black fitted coat. If you happen to catch him at home he is likely to be more at his leisure with his white shirt untucked and cravat loose around his neck.

;; personality
general;;
Édouard has an interesting sense of humour, everything he does he does in a way that amuses him greatly. He very much dislikes people to know how he feels about them and generally hides his feeling behind his proud demur. He often answers people with a low grunt or remark that makes him chuckle to himself. Although he gets on well with the people around him he never fully connects emotionally with them, he uses humour as a way to distance himself from them.
Edouard is not a fool and on the whole reads people quite easily he can tell when someone is more interested in the size of his bank account or his high influential status. He often prefers to be alone but he has been known to throw large parties, his younger tendencies still unearth themselves from time to time and he often enjoys a night out gambling.

;; origins
general;;
Edouard was born on the 12th of May to Rochelle and Claude Isaacs they where an extremely wealthy family living on the outskirts of Paris. As Edouard grew up he received everything he could wish for, they lived on a fine estate with large grounds, and servants and Edouard never knew an unhappy day in his life. His father took him fishing or would teach him the British sport of Cricket and the two where extremely close. However as Edouard began to reach his teen years his mother insisted he be sent to school and turned into a proper French Gentleman. Edouard was saddened by the thought of leaving the home he loved but he was also excited about attending a school with boys his own age.
So at the age of twelve he waved good bye to his mother and father an travelled 30 miles to the large school house. It wasn’t as he had expected, his life was run by schedules and teachers who took delight in caning the students. Although he excelled in Maths and Science he hated English and found an enemy in the teacher. He was caned on several occasions for delinquent activity and often skipped English class to go into the village with his older friends. Shortly after he turned fifteen he received a letter from home explaining he couldn’t return home, his mother had contracted tuberculosis and the whole estate was being quarantined. He spent the summer at the school waiting for news as to the health of his family and during the last few days of the summer holidays that fateful letter arrived telling him that both his parents and the majority of the staff and died from the disease.
And so at the age of fifteen he found himself the sole owner of the large estate and several businesses as well as completely alone in the world. Edouard Sold the estate he had no use for it and with the money from the businesses and estate he travelled the world. He went to Spain, Germany, Russia, Asia, Rome, across the ocean to Jamaica and other islands. He was young and spent his money on booze, gambling and of course women.
He eventually returned to France aged twenty-five realizing he couldn’t avoid the calls of his businesses any longer. Surprisingly he was an excellent business man and within three years and tripled the net worth of his fathers bank business. Love reached Edouard in the form of a young woman called Eloisa St Just her father managed one of Edouards bank branches and she often visited her father while he was at work. It wasn’t long before Edouard made his affections known, Eloisa was a beautiful woman but she was incredibly delicate and vulnerable something which made her very attractive to Edouard. They married and at the age of thirty he found himself a happily married man. The two set up home in a small flat not to far from Paris and lived in blissful happiness for a year. That is until Eloisa fell pregnant. Maybe someone as delicate and sweet as Eloisa was never meant to be on this earth for too long and that God needed her with him. Well that’s what Edouard told himself, her body couldn’t cope with the demands of child baring and she along with the baby died.
After that Edouard vowed never to marry again, he had lost the one woman he truly loved and his child with her. He spent the next few years not socializing with anyone and concentrating on expanding his businesses even more. Some people say he was depressed but he shrugged off their suggestions. Of course with his wealth he had no lack of female admirers but he wasn’t interested in upper class women who where only interested in the size of his bank account.
It was then he heard about the Paris Opera House. It needed some new managers and who better to take a position than someone as accomplished in business as Edouard.
