Masquerade balls are still held in the entrance hall which the lower class usually gather in when waiting for a performance to start.

There are also many rehearsal rooms for the performers as well as changing rooms and of course the small church room in which the workers of the Opera House can go and pray.

Its decorated in red and gold and theres a large crystal chandelier hanging below Marc Chagall's brightly coloured ceiling, the Italian-style horseshoe-shaped auditorium seats 1,900.

No one dares descend into the catacombs, not only do the stories of the opera ghost terrify the workers of the opera house but below the Paris Opera House is a maze of catacombs that you are bound to become lost in. You can access the catacombs through several hidden trap doors or through the large gate close to the Opera House.

All the houses are large with well cared for backyards. Each house has white marble steps that lead to a large front door. This is a very popular area in Paris for a home and they are usually in high demand.
